All are called to be disciples, and some to be leaders. Below are the further expectations of leaders.
Leads graciously.
- Is called to leadership.
- Possesses, develops and exercises gifts and abilities of leadership.
- Meets the bibilcal criteria for their level of leadership. (e.g. 1 Tim. 3 for Elders and Deacons)
- Serves by humble example, not by lording over others. 1 Cor. 11:1
- Is growing in areas of discipleship (including personal holiness) and leadership.
- Submits appropriately to authority.
- Is balanced in areas of grace and truth.
- Is motivated by love for God and people, not power, position or greed.
