Into All the World
Key Passage: Matthew 28:19-20
These are dangerous and frightening times. What should our response be? What did they do in the New Testament in those turbulent times? Did they just recoil? Did they hide? Or did they march forward—courageously, boldly, confidently, sometimes losing their lives, sometimes seeing great revivals break out. So how should we respond to the troublesome days? God didn’t put us here to be afraid. He put us here to make a difference in people’s lives.
Matthew 28:19-20
[19] "As you go, make disciples of all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit; [20] teaching them to observe all the things that I’ve commanded you; and lo, I’ll be with you all the way, even to the end of this age."
We have a single message
God the Father sent His only Son, virgin-born, the Lord Jesus Christ, into this world to reveal the truth of the Father; to demonstrate His life; and to die on the cross a sacrificial, substitutionary, all-sufficient, vicarious death in which He paid the sin-debt of the world in one act. And, as a result, God has provided forgiveness and the gift of eternal life to all who will receive Him by faith as their personal Savior through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- It is superior to every other message of every other religion
Backed up and validated by Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection Other religions have fear, hate, and/or works Other religions have no assurance We have eternal life
The Gospel is sufficient
- Anyone can understand it
- God blesses those who receive it
- It is sufficient in every circumstance
- It transforms your life
The Mission of the Church is global
- We are to make disciples – teach them, train them
- We are to baptize them
luke 24:45, 47 revelation 5:9
At work, school, home Missions are what every believer does
- Personally sharing our faith. - Everyone has a testimony
No one does it alone—it’s what we all do together
- Big picture
- God works in His time
What greater gift is there than salvation?
Are you going to live for you, or are you going to live for Jesus?
- Jesus takes the self-centeredness out of our lives.
- Gives us joy, happiness, peace
How do we carry it out the Great Commission?
- Some are to go
- Some are to send
- All are to pray
It’s not your looks, not your personality, not your wealth, not your position, not your prominence, and not your performance. It is an open, available heart.
